Kenai Peninsula

We have been in the Kenai Peninsula for the month of July. We were in Soldotna, at Klondike RV Park, for most of that time except for three days in Homer and three days in Seward. Becky’s mom and dad joined us in Soldotna for eight days and her brother, Chris, and his wife, Marti, joined us after a trip to Fairbanks.

The six of us, accompanied by Larry and Marry Anne Weinberg, took a float plane trip across Cook Inlet to Little River Lake to view bears and fish for Sockeye salmon. There was little bear activity so we concentrated of fishing and caught about 20 Reds. It was a great fishing day for Pop.

Four of us went out with a guide to fish for King salmon on the Kenai River. Becky got a 45 pounder and Chris a landed smaller King. We continued to fish the Kenai after our relatives left. Becky got another King, 35 pounds, and together we caught another 20 Reds.

In Homer we attended the Baptist Church whose pastor, our home church is King George supports as our missionary to Homer.

The time is Seward was marked by heavy rain so we visited the Alaska Sea Life Center but didn’t do any other outside activities.

Yesterday we arrived in Anchorage after a short visit to the Alaska wildlife Refuge near Portage. We celebrated our anniversary with friends at dinner.
